Job Description:
As an OpenText Application Developer, you will translate applications requirements into web-based solutions using the OpenText platform. You will use new and emerging technologies in conjunction with the OpenText platform for maximizing system efficiencies and improving business processes and workflows for the agency. The modules currently being used by the agency are:
Content Suite
Liquid Office
Principal Responsibilities:
Work with the Project Manager to develop a detailed project schedule using Microsoft Project that lays out the project deliverables, milestones, tasks, estimated hours and task completion dates.
Be able to work in a fast-paced Agile development environment
Provide the functional design, coding, testing, risk assessment and mitigation strategy for Development, Test and Production releases
Provide additional documentation necessary to coordinate, track and implement the project in collaboration with the Project Manager
Participate in the elicitation of business requirements as facilitated by the Project Manager and Business Analyst
Provide daily, weekly or monthly activity/status reports as required by Project Manager
Perform unit testing prior to Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Test (UAT)
Provide bug fix remediation for QA/UAT test cycles as well as Operations and Maintenance for current production releases
Utilize Jira project management software to plan, track and update status of software development tasks
Provide and maintain documentation for all changes to software or configuration. This documentation shall be provided to the Project Manager and will be maintained in appropriate system documentation files and will be audited on a regular basis
Provide data migration/mapping plans, systems integration recommendations and contingency plans, as required
Support weekend Production releases/patches and provide a Software Release Management task plan in coordination with the OpenText System Administrator
Address Help Desk tickets that are assigned as an OpenText issue/incident
Support end-user training in coordination with the OpenText Trainer as needed
Maintain configuration and version control using designated Code Management System
Develop & support the integration of other systems with OpenText systems and related integration documentation
Develop Release notes
Skills and Experience:
Must have five (5) years of experience in systems analysis, application architecture and programming in the OpenText platform (Content Server)
Must be able to develop applications using advanced technologies, including Internet protocols and web-based technology. Technologies should include HTML, PERL, Javascript, Java, Web Services etc.
Demonstrated experience with using Agile project management tools such as Jira
Must possess excellent communication (written and verbal)
Ability to create project documentation from scratch using Microsoft tools such as MS Word, MS Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to lead OpenText design and development sessions
Proficiency in use of collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
