HAPPY BERNIE MAC DAY!! On November 14, 2016, Steve Harvey read a proclamation (during his talk show) from the then mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emmanuel proclaiming “Nov 14th Bernie Mac Day”. This date was chosen to commemorate the airing of Bernie’s hit tv show “The Bernie Mac Show”. During the taping of the show, Steve invited Bernie’s wife Rhonda, daughter Je’Niece and his one and only granddaughter Jasmine..all of which were overcome with emotion because they had no clue that Bernie would be bestowed with such an honor. Bernie and Steve’s comedy king brothers DL Hugley, Cedric the Entertainer and the original host of “The Original Kings of Comedy” tour, Guy Tory joined them as well. Comedic great Mike Epps added to this auspicious day by revealing “The Bernie Mac Auditorium” at Bernie and Rhonda’s alma mater Chicago Vocational School.
