• Kevin Bacon
Born: July 8, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
Kevin Norwood Bacon was born on July 8, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Ruth Hilda (Holmes), an elementary school teacher, and Edmund Norwood Bacon, a prominent architect who was on the cover of Time Magazine in November 1964.
Kevin's early training as an actor came from The Manning Street. His debut as the strict Chip Diller in Animal House (1978) almost seems like an inside joke, but he managed to escape almost unnoticed from that role. Diner (1982) became the turning point after a couple of television series and a number of less-than-memorable movie roles. In a cast of soon-to-be stars, he more than held his end up, and we saw a glimpse of the real lunatic image of The Bacon. He also starred in Footloose (1984), She's Having a Baby (1988), Tremors (1990) with Fred Ward, Flatliners (1990), and Apollo 13 (1995).
Bacon is married to actress Kyra Sedgwick, with whom he has 2 children.

  • YOU like FACTS and that is probably why you are reading this! SOOOOO HERE are YOUR Facts for Monday:

    1. "Footloose" didn't have a big enough budget to shoot a big dance scene for the ending. But test audiences felt so cheated that the studio paid $200,000 to shoot that scene . . . just six weeks before the movie opened. (Let's Dance!!)

    2. You're more likely to get hurt at work on a Monday than any other day of the week. Fridays have the fewest injuries. Please be safe today!

    3. The average person passes gas 10 times every 24 hours . . . and produces a full liter of flatulence.

    4. There's a significant LSD shortage in the U.S., and there has been for more than a decade. It's because it's virtually impossible to get one of the ingredients required to make it . . . a chemical compound called ergot alkaloid.

    5. There's a town in Alaska called Whittier with a population of about 200 people . . . all of whom live in one 14-story building that used to be an Army barracks.
