Throwback Thursday – 1980 Remembering when our Eastabrook Photography team photographed Steve Martin in-studio for the “All New Photos” for his book “Cruel Shoes” (his first published book). This was certainly a team effort. Part of my role was to source the props for these images. Because the set-up was only loosely pre-designed by the art director this meant I worked to locate and obtain the desk, chair, wire waste basket and overhead light in three sizes (small, medium and large) from various prop houses around Hollywood, as well as various other possible props. This was a fun shoot as we got to work with Steve for the better part of a day and it was fascinating to watch him as he morphed in and out of character for his “part.” As an added benefit I got to deliver the final images to Steve at his home in Tuluca Lake, CA.
