Gregory and Charlton Heston made the epic western The Big Country together in 1958, and remained friends for the rest of their lives. Though they didn't always agree on issues, they had the greatest respect and admiration for one another. When GP received the AFI Life Achievement Award, this is what Mr. Heston said in tribute: “There are a lot of good actors in this town, there is none more gifted than he. There are fewer true stars, there is none whom the camera more genuinely loves, nor to whom the audiences turn as a flower to the sun, as to Greg. His status as a private and public citizen is admirable, the causes he has spoken for, some of which we have disagreed on, but he has spoken with eloquence, passion, and integrity that is undeniable, and I honor him for that."
Couldn't we all learn something from the respect Greg and Chuck had for each other in spite of their differences of opinion
