Unilateral UK action on protocol would be ‘historic low point’, says Irish PM:

Unilateral action by the UK to scrap parts of the Northern Ireland protocol would mark a “historic low point”, Ireland’s Taoiseach Micheál Martin told MEPs in an address to the European Parliament on Wednesday.

The UK government reportedly plans to move ahead with draft legislation next week to do away with sections of the Northern Ireland protocol, including the checks on goods entering Northern Ireland from the EU that were instituted as part of the Brexit deal. Concern over the UK’s intentions has been voiced in Dublin, Brussels and Washington.
