People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has named Bollywood star Alia Bhatt its 2021 Person of the Year. She is an animal lover and often shares pictures with her pets. This year, Alia Bhatt invested in Phool, the company behind Fleather, which is a vegan leather made from discarded temple flowers.
Her vegan kidswear line, Ed-a-Mamma, also won a 2021 PETA India fashion award for helping to nurture kids’ love for animals and nature. Alia also starred in a pro-adoption PETA India campaign to help cats and dogs. She has used her position to call for stronger animal protection laws.

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt said Arunachal Pradesh's culture, food, and people are unique. The actor who has been roped in as Brand Ambassador of the '50 Years of Arunachal Pradesh' celebration said he will try his best in highlighting the uniqueness of Arunachal Pradesh to the people outside.
Dutt kicked off the media campaign for the month-long celebrations at Mechuka in the Shi-Yomi district of the state on Monday.
The celebrations would start from January 20 to February 20 next year, commemorating the birth of Arunachal Pradesh as a state.

In a bid to speed up the vaccination drive in Maharashtra, the Uddhav Thackeray-led government on Wednesday decided to make actor Salman Khan the vaccine ambassador of the state. According to a PTI report, state Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said there was hesitancy about taking anti-coronavirus vaccines in Muslim-dominated areas, and the government will take the help of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to convince people to take the jab.
Speaking to PTI on Monday, Tope said that Maharashtra is leading in terms of the number of vaccine shots administered, but in some areas the pace of vaccination is low. “There is still some hesitancy in Muslim-dominated areas. We have decided to use Salman Khan and religious leaders to convince the Muslim community to take the vaccine,” he said.
