• Movie Name : The Do-Over

“Even though watching Spade and Sandler together brought back memories, The Do-Over is really a movie they should redo or un-do because its shows how exhausted Sandler movies have become.”

    SharpRatings: 5 - #Meh
Tagline: Dying was their first mistake.

Nothing about #TheDoOver is really gripping, its series of gags upon gags for the #AdamSandler second movie with Netflix. Upon reflection though, Sandler and #DavidSpade just don't seem to care. Apart from the obvious answer of money, why would someone put their name in this movie? It's mediocre, there's no love in trying to make the viewer laugh and the five-star rating Netflix give it on their platform is deceptive conduct at its finest. However, the storyline seems just okay. Since it is not fresh enough, they did not even overuse the concept to build a plot with clichés. Kind of guessable twists, but it will work for most of the people. Better stunt sequences for such a comedy flick. Good performances and it was a smooth sail according to the film's pace. The director and Sandler had given a few good comedies back then, and this fresh collaboration was decent. I mean if you consider how simple the plot is then its just average movie. The Do-Over doesn’t try new things it tries to do same old Sandler with some improvement, while it doesn’t work because old Sandler movies cant exists in the new world, they are silly, a dumb comedy with adult jokes filled in nowadays that happens in a movie is deemed as bad. I think only positive you can focus on is that it is a huge improvement over the first movie with Netflix, #Ridiculous6 and nothing else.

    Bonus
Adam Sandler and David Spade together. Sometimes funny. Tries to be emotional…

    Drawback
…but fails as it's Sandler movie. Repeated jokes and clichés.

  • Movie Name: Hotel Transylvania 2

“Constant throwing and mashing up of different gags of Hotel Transylvania are welcomed but more emphasis on the characters and less on humor could have made the sequel are great to watch.”

    Sharpratings: 6 - #Okay

I was not a fan of the first movie while it made me chuckle and like some of its moments and characters, I don’t believe we really needed a sequel. #HotelTransylvania 2, while not particularly incredible, is unexpectedly funny and enjoyable. The large cast of fumbling monstrosities and the nocturnal vampire household deliver enough charming wit for a few simple warm laughs. As for the plot, the story follows Drac and friends as they welcome the newest member of the half-man half-vampire family. The boy is clearly a cuddly bait for empathy, in fact, many of its adorable gimmicks are built to relate to the casual audience. This admittedly might feel cheesy at times since the movie opens up with an overly comical tone. Hotel Transylvania 2 continues to boast some terrific, very cartoony animation whose movement is more prominent than most CGI movies. It's dark, but also colorful. You don't get that a lot with anything monster related. Once again what impresses about the sequel is the voice acting is also just as good. #AdamSandler feels really invested as Dracula. It may be obviously him as his voice is distinct to tell, but he's having fun with the part, so it's fun to see where he'll roll with it. The main theme for Hotel Transylvania movies remains tolerance, there's an underlying message of acceptance, a closer touch on prejudice. It's not entirely spectacular but still a strikingly effective analogy. Most of the humor comes from pop culture references and physical jokes. These may seem excessively flashy, but oddly enough, they are whimsically tickling, especially those on the second act. It's writing, while witty, still seems a tad lazy. They follow through with the story of a child and his vampire genes, plenty of the side plots are never resolved, or at least resolved too fast. All in all the movie isn't horrible. The animation is really fast and clever, and everything is cleverly stylized. However, looks can't save a movie. The main focus of the movie should've been more on the characters, and less on the comedy and constant movement.

    Bonus
some jokes are great. Likable creatures.

    Drawback
Nothing that truly impresses. Ordinary animated movie.

  • It's been ten years ago since Grown Ups movie came out in June-25-2010 and I went to see that comedy movie for the first time with my dad (John Moss) and my elder sissy (Heather Moss) at MJR Marketplace Digital Cinema 20 in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Let me tell ya: it's one of the funniest movies I've ever watched. It's also an amazing thing that five former basketball players from their junior-high-school including Lenny Feder (Adam Sandler), Eric Lamonsoff (Kevin James), Kurt McKenzie (Chris Rock), Marcus Higgins (David Spade) and Rob Hilliard (Rob Schneider) who got back together before they came for the funeral of their old coach named Robert Ferdinando after they've been gone their separated ways with their new families (both wives and kids) where they brought them along and they're enjoying the outdoors. #tenyears #comedy #SterlingHeights #Michigan #funniestmovies #AdamSandler #KevinJames #ChrisRock #DavidSpade #RobSchneider
