What will you be doing?
Lead an agile team of developers in project deliveries, as well as line management responsibilities
Ensure that the team delivers good quality and maintainable code with high test coverage
Be hands-on in development, code reviews and unit testing
Accountable for implementing the strategy for Devops transformation, migration of services from legacy to target state.
Accountable for creating design, execution map, creating network map, estimate efforts to design and develop features.
Accountable for execution of automation architecture, which involves service automation, automation of application build, monitoring services, databases.
Assume responsibility for the delivery of the projects assigned to the team
Delivery of key migrations from pre-prod environments to the PROD environment
Responsible for engaging support teams viz. Chef support, middleware team, AWS support team, Unix team, service managers.
Accountable for maintaining access controls across all environments along with auditing any access breaches.
Strong team leading experience providing day to day work allocation and direction to the team of technical SME’s. Evidence of leading people and teams, Performance management, team pipeline (demand against team capacity) and providing appropriate metrics based on different audiences (showing resource utilisation, budget and delivery against targets and milestones).
Expertise in optimizing, refining and performance tuning applications, script and processes
Liaising and working closely with the peers within and outside of the team, keeping stakeholders updated on progress against milestones
Highlight and managing risks and issues via effective controls and standard Barclays processes
Enhance and improve the application development capability within the team, via automation and innovation
Produce various management information reports showing trend analysis, KPI’s and executive summaries
What We’re Looking For
Responsible for gathering system requirements working together with application architects and owners
Responsible for generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources
Discover standard cloud services offerings, install, and execute processes and standards for optimal use of cloud service provider offerings
Build software for the organization’s systems and ES as a service offering
Stay well-informed of failures and complications related to a cloud offering
Responsible for debugging technical issues inside a complex stack involving containers, Microservices, etc.
Good knowledge on Project Planning and Project Tracking at macro level Strong ability to manage and execute on multiple project timelines and priorities
Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices. Should have experience to JIRA
Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem solving skills
Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS)/BCP, Certification will be an advantage.
Understanding on Linux administration skills with knowledge of storage services SAN / NAS etc
Excellent understanding of typical multi-tier architectures: web servers, caching, application servers, & load balancers
In-depth understanding of Load balancers and Firewall / VPN configuration.
Exposure to infrastructure Monitoring Tools like Nagios, APM viz. ELK, Prometheus.
Exposure to log management and log analysis tools like Splunk.
Understanding RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), NoSQL
Knowledge of message queuing viz. Kafka
Familiarity with loose coupling and stateless systems
