Job Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated, individual with 5-7 years’ experience in our DevOps group to support the Lead DevOps engineer(s) across a wide variety of initiatives. Responsible for the management and coordination of day-to-day and strategic operations to advance the capabilities of our IT organizations which will reduce MTTR and increase our ability to deliver timely data to support business velocity.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases.
Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications.
Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports.
Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance with regards to practices, procedures and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.
Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Familiarity with modern development and scripting languages and Methodologies:

=> Candidates with Ruby On Rails and Java Experience will be added advantage for this role

Writing and running Ansible playbooks (2-3 years)
Familiar with Docker and or Kubernetes (2 year)
Familiar with Object Oriented development practices
Experience writing OO code in Python, Ruby (3 years)
Experience with Test Driven Development
Expert with Ruby on Rails (3-6 years)
Proficient interfacing Relational / NOSQL databases from Ruby / Python
Proficient working with RESTful API interfaces using Ruby / Python
Version control systems: Git
Work Tracking: Jira, Agile Practices
Experience managing applications through SDLC lifecycle (deployment, patching, support, testing)
Understanding of Linux operating system and command line interface (3 year)
Understanding of Windows operating system and PowerShell (2-3 years)
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with providing excellent customer service, communication, and support
Ability to take direction from leadership roles, and senior Devops team members

Bachelor's Degree
