Job Summary:

As a Hardware Project Manager at TransLoc you will interface with all functions necessary to bring highly reliable, best in class, transit hardware products to market. The primary focus of this position is to plan, facilitate and integrate the development of products within the hardware engineering team while coordinating with other functional PM teams to deliver an optimal user experience. You will be an integral part of the product team, helping the team to select system hardware, work through issues and solve problems. This will require taking a systems integration approach to product development, ensuring that all parts are thoroughly integrated, tested and proven to meet the product requirements.

Essential Functions:

Develop and refine prioritized product needs based on insights from market research, competitive analysis, customer engagement, business needs and collaboration with subject matter experts
Collaborate with your product stakeholders to prioritize problems to solve, portfolio strategies, and succession planning for a clear product roadmap
Effectively identify and manage cross-team dependencies
Report to management and team on products performance: quality, usage, and gaps
Work closely with other PMs to define hardware strategy and requirements
Build effective relationships that matter with engineering, design, CX and a variety of cross-functional stakeholders
Develop communications material, value props and high-level strategic justification to help explain the why of your product both internally and externally
Develop relationships with customers and prospects, gather and understand customer feedback on existing products and products in development and conduct effective interviews to better understand the context, pressures, complete understanding of the problems they need to solve to deliver the right solution
Communicate the vision of the product, value proposition and release goals to the cross-functional team as part of the release planning process
Innovate on how hardware can bring us closer to revenue goals, in-field support, easy installs, and providing our internal stakeholders the tools to manage hardware
Oversee testing, critique product design, and design changes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience with agile and scrum product development methodologies
1-3 years of product or project management experience in hardware or software product development
Ability to multi-task while establishing priorities
Experience with Jira; familiarity with Salesforce or Aha! a plus
Deep understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models
Ability to be detail-oriented and analytical
An enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire others
Familiar with on-board transit hardware a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or relevant work experience
Experience with B2B and B2C products a plus
Ability to diagnose basic to intermediate technical issues involving hardware that is connected to software applications and interfaces
