Movie Name: Dead Poets Society

“A talented Robbin Williams makes Dead Poets Society a film for all ages and thanks to its direction, and well-dated themes the film remains relatable even after so many years.”

SharpRatings: 8 - #Great

John Keating (#RobinWilliams) inspires a class of youth with his nonconformist teaching style and poetry. I don’t see #DeadPoetsSociety as an underrated movie but in fact, it's one of few films that are rightly and correctly rated. Dead Poets Society is based on a play of the same name. It is an inspiring, uplifting, and moral tale firmly grounded in reality is not nearly as appreciated as it should be. This is one of Robin Williams's finest performances-I do believe he should have been at least nominated for best actor and either the guy who plays Neil or Ethan Hawk should have been nominated for best supporting actor. The friendships that are forged in the school are genuine and believable and the people are those that you can relate to. In contrast to all other teachers, Mr. Keating´s Teaching Methods are unorthodox and are based on democratic principles. He tries to teach them to be freethinkers and wants to inspire them but he doesn't think about the consequences. Is the film a perfect one? No, there are many flaws but they are pretty minor, go unnoticed. I felt like it was a bit melodramatic at times. No high school-aged kids are going to be talking like this in real life, it's definitely overdramatized. The authoritative characters are exaggerated as well, in my opinion. But I get it it's based on a play and things like this work in entertainer biz. Overall, there is a lot to like about the movie. Cinematography, characterizations, actors, etc. I really liked how it leaves you feeling for Keating's character at the end, while also in many ways arguing against his actions.

Bonus
Robbin Williams. Direction. Cast performance.
