Another Russian ship taken out in Black Sea; EU promises €500 million military support to Ukraine:

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Friday that the bloc would provide another 500 millions euros worth of military support to Ukraine and that he was confident a deal could be reached in the coming days to agree an embargo on Russian oil. Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials say their forces took out another Russian ship in the Black Sea.

Ukraine said that Russia’s Vsevolod Bobrov logistics ship was struck as it was trying to deliver an anti-aircraft system to Snake Island. He said the ship was badly damaged but was not believed to have sunk. There was no confirmation from Russia and no reports of casualties.

Meanwhile, the UN Human Rights Council passed a resolution to set up an investigation into possible war crimes by Russian troops in the Kyiv area and beyond, a move that the Kremlin said amounted to political score-settling. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said there were many examples of possible war crimes, including unlawful killings and summary executions. Moscow denies deliberately attacking civilians.
