GT vs RCB: Kohli fifty, Lomror's late heroics takes Royal Challengers Bangalore to 170/6:
Virat Kohli finally scored his first half century of the season before falling to Mohammed Shami. The former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain scored 58 off 53 balls and put up 99 runs for the second wicket with Rajat Patidar, who himself scored 52 off 32 balls. Glenn Maxwell then gave RCB the impetus in the death overs by scoring 33 off 18 balls after which Mahipal Lomror smashed 16 runs off eight deliveries in the end to get RCB to 170/6. Du Plessis earlier said that he chose to bat first simply because of the heat at the Brabourne Stadium. He is just the second captain to choose to bat after winning the toss this season. He reckoned that the pitch and conditions won't change too much and he just wants his team to stay as fresh as possible.
