  • Series Name: Agent Carter
    Season: 2
Best Episode: E09 - A Little Song and Dance
Why: season 2 to incredible season 1, follows same creative and smart writing for TV MCU.
Should: if you saw season 1 you would want to know what happens next?
    My Ratings: 7 - #Good

#AgentCarter or #PeggyCarter was and will remain best thing for this show because #HayleyAtwell was amazing, she does work in a world of men but she surely beats everyone on screen with her. Such charismatic actor. So season 1 was great with smart introduction to world after #CaptainAmerica had gone missing, World War ended and women’s role was not yet set in corporate world. However Season 2 goes bigger as it wanted to create more Marvel world, giving us little things for example season 2 indirectly proves existence of #DoctorStrange before the movie came out. Such writing was expected from this show until it was cancelled. The focus of season 2 is Zero Matter, a matter that embodies into Whitney Frost (#WynnEverett) who I believe was the most interesting thing of the show, and her character development was given perfectly considering she was new on show. The episodes do vary from time to time, they feel disconnected at times, maybe that is why once show is about to end in finale it never quite hits the viewer like it should, the name of last episode Hollywood Ending, just proves that writers were very lazy in giving us a meaningful ending especially considering that show will now never return. Ties-in to #AgentOfShield and somewhat #AgeOfUltron was nice, the whole Dottie Underwood (#BridgetRegan) Russian spy program gave much needed backdrop for #BlackWidow from #Avengers. Even though she was not there on the show, we as viewer get to know what happen and how she was trained as a kid. All in all I believe people should have seen this show as it was unique but still aligned with much of comic book shows, it was smartly using its time period for its own use and tell cool stories that set in MCU because they didn’t had to prove it. Agent Carter had some of good score but the CGI was bland, like I said it went bigger but this element was not welcomed on the show.

    Bonus
Too many nods to Marvel universe. Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter.

    Drawbacks
So so CGI. Cancelled show. Bland ending.

  • For my 7th OTH convention, I'd have to say this one was the best, by far. Great lineup, amazing concert, awesome banquet experience... but in addition to all of that, I got to spend OTH weekend with Vince Ours, who actually loves the show as much as I do! As always, the characters on the show, quotes, music, and love was all brought together by the lovely Eyecon staff and the wonderful actors!! I am thankful for the #eyeconfamily and the friends that I have made because of this lifestyle that we live. I'm so glad that I got to introduce Vince to everyone! We got some great photos and have memories that will last us a lifetime- SO in love with this photo! I can't wait to attend more conventions in the future together. This show is the reason why I discovered Wilmington, a beautiful place that I love so much. I am happy to say I live in the best place in the world with the love of my life. ❤ #RTTH6 #onetreehill #oth #home #family #lovewhereyoulive #ilm #wilmingtonnc

  • Movie Name: Fruitvale Station

“Powerful and heartbreaking. The kind of film that sticks with you after you've seen it. Start of Jordan-Coogler partnership as actor-director. This biodrama doesn’t rely on inspirational stories, or real-life heroes it takes a tragic event and simply uses it for a simple, considerate drama. While the finale is devastating and works, Fruitvale Station is far from being the perfect movie.”

    SharpRatings: 7 - #Good

I love good biodrama, especially if its based on some controversial event. #FruitvaleStation is based on the shooting of #OscarGrant at the Fruitvale station by officers. This retells the last day of Oscar played by #MichaelBJordan, as grant’s relationship with his mother, wife, friends, and daughter. Mostly Fruitvale Station works as a sympathetic drama that proves vital for Oscar Grant legacy. I always wondered where did it go right for Michael B Jordan as an actor. Fruitvale Station is the perfect stop for that, while he played a huge part in the #Chronicle, I believe this is where his career really kicked off. Jordan is really a talented and versatile actor his range is not only shown in Fruitvale Station but throughout his filmography. He takes it seriously, as Oscar Grant. Proving that extra zing to the role, I believe he made me feel for Oscar Grant more than Oscar Grant himself. The final moments are thoroughly a masterpiece, I cannot give enough credit to filmmaker #RyanCoogler, who integrated touchy drama so attractively. Like Jordan, I wondered same for Coogler. For both Fruitvale Station is amongst best and really hit their career start. Coogler opts to actors to deliver the performance with their talents, the script and dialogues aren’t impactful as we wished for but there are moments and scenes created with extra care that leaves the impact of their own. The film foreshadows the tragic event throughout the day of Grant in the movie. The scene with the dog is one classic example of that and yes it is manipulative and tries a little too hard to win over our sympathies. A mistake that a newcomer like Ryan Coogler can correct as he continues to grow as a promising filmmaker. Even at his weakest point, Coogler has delivered one of his best. I also agree with the fact that there is probably nothing true about the events that took place during that day other than the tragic outcome at the station which was recreated very well considering the authentic footage I've seen from the incident. But I do have to defend Coogler here because in a way I think we all tend to put a halo on the people we love once they are gone remembering the good things about them and not so much on the negative aspects. Overall Fruitvale Station doesn’t contain over the top special effects and big Hollywood blockbuster cinematography, it's dirty and gritty, its rare biographical movie that holds its impact till the end. Fruitvale Station isn't trying to make Oscar Grant out to be some kind of martyr on the war on racism. It's simply trying to bring to people's attention a young man with his whole life ahead of him. A life that was taken from him and his family over the fatally poor choice of another man. Kudos to Ryan Coogler to keep it very very simple.

    Bonus
Michael B. Jordan. Coogler’s direction. Touchy drama.
