Henna, also known as "Lawsonia inermis" has a compound known as lawson (hennotonnic acid), which is a natural red-orange dye. Lawsone reacts chemically with the protein keratin in skin and hair, resulting in a strong stain that lasts until the skin or hair is shed. The soil in the Sojat region has minerals that produce the maximum Lawson content in the rain-fed henna crop, which we harvest only once a year. This area of land has all the prerequisites required for the perfect growth of the plant, from optimum climate conditions to the composition of the soil. Premium-quality henna leaves are manually harvested from the farms, sun-dried for several days, then cleaned and filtered for dirt, sandstones, seeds, and twigs, and finally milled in the world-class Hennaveda unit.
