Position description
Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Inspector Assistant will perform the quality duties as listed below and any other duties assigned to the individual as needed. The main purpose of this position is to assist the Quality Inspector and the secondary purpose is to assist production when 5 to 6 lines or less are running.
Environmental/Health/Safety
Ensure safe work environment in plant
Demonstrate active preventive engagement in EHS through preforming STOP Observations and safety/environmental reporting
Identify, eliminate, and / or communicate any unsafe conditions
Complying to all PPE requirements
Comply with all CertainTeed Siding and EHS Policies
Maintain and improve cleanliness of assigned working areas
Quality
Be able to understand and communicate what a good quality part is
Abide by all ISO 9001 and 14001 procedures
Ensure that product packaging specifications are followed
Must have working knowledge of all measurement tools/gauges and testing equipment in the QC lab
Able to find work instructions, deviations, drawings and procedures in LiveLink documentation system
Knows the proper procedure for red tags
Complete in-process checks (visual, fit and function, dimensional, color, impact and nitrogen)
Communicate quality related concerns to production and appropriate managers in a timely manner
Complete quality forms, report logs, and maintain document filing system
Ensure that dispositions are completed on all red tagged product
