Energy Technology Design Center was established at the same year.
It is engaged in the integration and service of clean energy system solutions. It has signed contracts for heat-power generation and coal-to-power projects, and led the construction and operation of LNG plants.
2018
Oil and Gas Technical Service Center was established.
It is mainly engaged in the system integration and services for oil and natural gas supercharger and power solutions;
In the same year, it signed a technical service contract for supercharged production with CNPC XXXX Sichuan Shale Gas Company.
2020
Additive Remanufacturing Center was established.
It has operated supersonic and plasma thermal spraying, laser cladding and 3D additive remanufacturing businesses, and handle the remanufacturing and repair of failed parts of large-sized equipment in fields of oil and gas, steel, metallurgy, locomotive and shipbuilding.
2021
Bonded Processing and Maintenance Center was established.
It applied for the import and export qualification of products and technical services, and set up bonded maintenance and service centers in Dalian, Tianjin, and Dongying Bonded Port to undertake bonded processing and maintenance business of overseas equipment.

India and European Union (EU) have agreed to step up their Clean Energy and Climate Partnership. They jointly agreed on a detailed work program until 2023 to implement the 2016 India-EU Clean Energy and Climate Partnership. The Panel agreed on increased technical cooperation in energy efficiency, renewable energy, green hydrogen, grid integration, storage, power market design, interconnection, cold chain, and sustainable financing.
The Panel also agreed to explore further avenues to strengthen India-EU cooperation within the context of the International Solar Alliance. EU expressed its support for the close cooperation between India and the International Energy Agency. India and EU also agreed to exchange closely on clean energy in the frame of G20.

The nation will have nine nuclear reactors by 2024 and a new nuclear project, the first in northern India, will come up 150 kms away from Delhi in Gorakhpur of Haryana, the government informed the Rajya Sabha. By 2024, India will have nine nuclear reactors plus 12 new additional ones which were approved during the Covid times with a capacity of 9000 MW.
The minister said that nuclear energy will soon emerge as one of the most important sources of alternative or clean energy for the increasing power demand of the country. India is counting on its nuclear program to help meet its Paris climate commitments to reduce the emissions intensity of its economy by a third from 2005 levels by 2030.

The WePOWER India Partnership Forum was held through a virtual platform on November 9, 2021, to boost the South Asia Women in Power Sector Professional Network (WePOWER) in India. The event was organized by the World Bank (WB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) in association with the India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF). The event saw a panel discussion on expanding job opportunities for women in India’s Clean Energy Transition’.
Initiated in 2019, WB in collaboration with ADB launched the WePOWER to promote gender equality in the Indian electricity sector. It is a network of 28 energy sector utilities and organizations. It also promotes normative change for women and girls in Science Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education.

At COP26 in Glasgow on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's suggestion of 'One Sun, One World & One Grid' formula- a global grid that would be able to transmit clean energy anywhere and anytime, was met with acclaim from world powers. Even during his Independence Day speech last year, PM Modi had pitched the same formula for solar energy.

In 2020's Independence Day speech, PM Modi had said, "India has shown that march towards development is possible by balancing the environment. Today, India is inspiring the entire world with its vision of 'One Sun, One World, One Grid,' particularly in the field of solar energy."

The International Solar Alliance (ISA), India Presidency of the ISA, and the UK COP Presidency unveiled the plans for the first international network of global interconnected solar power grids, known as the Green Grids Initiative – One Sun One World One Grid (GGI-OSOWOG), at the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow.

The project is being spearheaded by the governments of India and the UK in partnership with the ISA and the World Bank Group and will bring together a global coalition of national governments, international financial and technical organisations, legislators, power system operators and knowledge leaders to accelerate the construction of the new infrastructure needed for a world powered by clean energy.

The 3rd India-UK Energy for Growth Partnership Ministerial Energy Dialogue was co-chaired by Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy RK Singh from the Indian side and the Rt Hon Kwasi Kwarteng MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) from the UK side.
India and the United Kingdom have set in motion concrete action plans for driving clean energy transition in power sector. This was deliberated at the 3rd India-UK Energy for Growth Partnership Ministerial Energy Dialogue.

The European Union's chief executive Ursula von der Leyen pledged to accelerate the rate of Covid-19 vaccinations around the world, offering another 200 million jabs for low-income countries in her annual State of the European Union speech on Wednesday.

"Our first and most urgent priority is to speed up global vaccination," von der Leyen told the European Parliament in Strasbourg. "We have already committed to share 250 million doses of vaccine. I can announce today that our mission will add a new donation of another 200 million doses until the middle of next year," she said.

Speaking to lawmakers in the eastern French city of Strasbourg, von der Leyen hailed the EU’s vaccination drive. With 70 percent of its adult population fully vaccinated so far, the bloc is now among the world’s leaders in its pandemic response.

Looking forward, von der Leyen said the next year will be "a test of character" for the EU. "A pandemic is a marathon, it's not a sprint," she noted. "Let us make sure that it does not turn into a pandemic of the non-vaccinated."

The former German defence minister has put tackling climate change at the top of her agenda with bold steps for the EU to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, along with a digital transformation of its economy.

Von der Leyen said the EU would double its international funding to protect nature and halt the decline of the world's biodiversity, adding: "My message today is that Europe is ready to do more."

"This is a generation with a conscience, they are pushing us to go further and faster to tackle the climate crisis," she said.

She said the EU would increase its financial support to help poorer countries fight climate change and adapt to its impacts.

"We will now propose an additional €4 billion for climate finance until 2027," said von der Leyen before calling on the EU’s allies to step up their commitments on tackling climate change.

“We expect the United States and our partners to step up too. This is vital, because closing the climate finance gap together, the US and the European Union, would be such a strong signal for global climate leadership," she said.

The EU already contributes $25 billion per year in climate finance, von de Leyen said.

Climate finance is expected to be a decisive issue at the UN’s COP26 summit in November, where world leaders will attempt to unlock commitments to cut emissions faster and stave off catastrophic climate change.

With seven weeks to go until COP26, finance remains a sore point.

Rich countries have so far failed to deliver their 2009 pledge to provide $100 billion per year in climate finance to poorer countries by 2020.

Without that support, some developing nations say they cannot make the huge investments required to wean their economies off fossil fuels and onto clean energy, or bolster their infrastructure to cope with worsening storms, floods and rising sea levels.

The EU and its member countries are, taken together, the biggest provider of climate finance to developing countries, according to the OECD.

France to host defence summit as Afghanistan pullout sparks ‘deeply troubling questions’

On the foreign policy front, von der Leyen said the EU would hold a defence summit next year during France’s rotating presidency of the bloc to push for a more autonomous military capacity.

The humanitarian and security fallout of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan has intensified debate in Brussels' about the EU's global security role.

"It is time for Europe to step up to the next level," said von der Leyen, adding that she will co-host the upcoming defence summit with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Macron is expected to push for member states to commit to more defence coordination.
