Full Job Description
Under minimal supervision, a Quality Assurance Engineer works to ensure that established standards are followed during the creation of automated test cases/scripts. They strive to continually enhance these standards so that all test assets are as reliable and maintainable as possible. A Quality Assurance Engineer also troubleshoots issues that occur with the automation framework and takes ownership of them to see that they get resolved in a timely manner.
Essential Job Functions
May train and mentor QA Developers
Review test assets and make recommendations of improvements
Enhance the standards for test asset creation as required
Troubleshoot issues involving the automation framework
Review functional specifications, business requirements, and use cases
Design and implement automated test cases/scripts using O'Reilly's defined framework
Execute automated test cases/scripts to confirm a given application's functional requirements
Identify and document application defects in a centralized issue tracking system
Maintain detailed documentation of test results
Enforce defect management procedures within the project team
Provide assessment of product quality at key milestones to project stakeholders
Use quantitative estimating techniques based on existing metrics and personal experience
Skills and Qualifications
3+ years of automated quality assurance testing experience
Ability to lead and manage others
Working knowledge of software applications and testing best practices
Exceptional problem-solving skills
Precise attention to detail
Must be able to learn independently
Outstanding organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must work well in a team environment
Proven background with both manual and automated testing
Bachelor's degree in computer-related technical discipline desired
Knowledge of SQL desired
Experience with Windows PowerShell desired
Programming experience (C# preferred) desired
Experience with iSeries desired
Knowledge of Windows Batch scripting desired
