Full Job Description
This role will visually inspect, evaluate, operate units, gather data and design test equipment to determine compliance of products to safety standards, performance requirements, and durability parameters.
Job Duties & Responsibilities*:

Evaluate operation of prototype and production units in field/laboratory conditions according to established and/or newly developed safety, durability, and performance standards.
Gather data on the performance of products and prototypes to include programming of data acquisition with computer controlled DAQ systems (i.e. LabVIEW, SoMat, Dewesoft) for non-standard testing.
Maintain daily logs on all test projects and may write periodic, interim and final data summaries as required.
Perform required maintenance, teardown and inspections of test units and record findings for inclusion in reliability and maintainability summaries.
May assist in design, construction, and development of specialized test fixturing and test stands.
Provide instruction to less experienced technicians.
Participates in field/lab improvement projects, in field/lab safety initiatives and perform duties with adherence to lab safety protocols.
Participate in quality initiatives and training as needed, and support company Quality policy
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Technical College graduate with minimum of two-year degree or certificate.
Entry level (zero to three years) of experience in a related technical role -OR – Bachelor’s degree in an technical related field (ex. Automotive, Manufacturing, Design, Agriculture) and no experience -OR- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in lieu of education in a mechanical/electrical role.
Experience with data acquisition devices highly desirable, e.g., LabVIEW, SoMat, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (word, excel etc) is required.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated troubleshooting capability.
Ability to work independently and in team environment supporting cross-functional staff members

Other Job-Related Components:

Some travel may be required to field test sites for data acquisition or performance evaluations.
Provide physical and technical support to Operations and other designated engineering departments.
Interface with engineers, other technicians, vendors, designers, drafters etc. and management personnel.
