Job Description

Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Serve as Senior technical lead and developer in Private Wealth Management (PWM) Technology, responsible for designing and developing highly scalable and resilient data platform and distribution framework. Work with various application teams and business users to define requirements and design solutions for wealth management applications across all asset classes including Equity, Fixed Income & Alternatives. Responsible for using data modelling tools and techniques to create logical models and entity relationships for various applications. Build ETL processes to handle large datasets and implement transformation, enrichment and business rules using big data technologies. Lead small teams through all the stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including providing work estimates and raising critical project issues such as technical/project risks. Design and implement changes to the data processing framework using Java and big data technologies. Build and execute automated testing strategies for existing and new applications. Design, develop and implement centralized highly available and resilient restful services for account, product and portfolio data of PWM clients. Train and mentor analysts within the team locally and globally. Support the existing system with business users and communicate ideas/issues clearly and concisely to non-technical users of the system. Schedule and monitor processes using tools such as Autosys, Keep alive and proprietary scheduling tools. Formulate design and implementation requirements in the system following coding best practices and utilizing Object-Oriented programming and design patterns concepts. Provide support and maintenance as needed. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies for data modeling and building software; no knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire. Multiple positions open.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field. Two (2) years of experience if Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience if Bachelor’s degree in the job offered or a related role. Must have at least two (2) years of experience with: Java, including experience with Java collections, Functional programming using lambdas, multithreading and design patterns; web application technologies, including Rest APIs (such as POST and GET), Spring framework, JSON, Tomcat and Apache ZooKeeper; relational and NoSQL databases, including Memsql, Sybase ASE 15 or higher, Sybase IQ, and Mongo DB; data modelling using tools such as Informatica; technology products such as Kibana for ElasticSearch; working in Unix/Linux environment specifically Red Hat Linux including scripting; Cloudera Hadoop distribution include working with the Hadoop stack, such as HDFS, Hive, Yarn, Spark and Map Reduce; messaging frameworks such as Kafka; data warehousing concepts such as Facts, Dimensions and ETL; domain experience dealing with asset management and financial data including Equity, Fixed Income, Alternatives and Contractuals (OTC) asset classes; client sub ledger processing and related functions such as activity/positions creation, asset allocation, payments, asset servicing, tax lot accounting and client account performance; change management and version control and deployment tools such as Jira, Gitlab, SRS, CVS, SVN, Jenkins and sonar; and Waterfall and Agile development practices, including backlog grooming, story creation, sprint planning and tracking.
