Job Summary:
As a Development Manager at Maxis, you will manage a development team. This can range from artists, designers, software engineers, QA and other production staff. DM's are the keepers of the project schedule and help move the development team from one project phase to the next while ensuring collaboration and communication. You will partner with producers (our product owners) and discipline leaders to ensure that the project is completed on time, to quality, and within budget.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project leads to define the team backlog for achieving project goals
Partner with discipline leads to determine the resource and capacity allocation for meeting project requirements
Work with project producers to align project scope expectations
Track progress of team’s deliverables and provide regular status reporting
Drive the identification and mitigation of project risks
Facilitate stand-ups, retrospective and sprint rituals
Work with subject matter experts to ensure all workflow and processes are clearly defined and documented
Provide direct reports with coaching and support through regular 1-on- 1 and career development plans
Manage the performance of direct reports through quarterly performance conversations annual performance reviews

Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of project management & team leadership experience and Game or Software Development
University degree Bachelors or equivalent professional experience
Agile/Scrum certification or equivalent professional experience
Experience leading and facilitating cross-discipline development teams
People management experience
JIRA experience
Microsoft excel (can write spreadsheets to support project tracking and resource planning)
