The Los Angeles Chargers today activated outside linebacker Kyler Fackrell from Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return and waived cornerback Essang Bassey.
Fackrell, who originally came into the NFL as a third-round selection by the Green Bay Packers in 2016, has appeared in 73 total games with 18 starts. He has posted 127 tackles (88 solo), 20.5 sacks, forced two fumbles and an interception for his career. In 12 games this season, Fackrell has made one start and totaled 14 tackles, three sacks, two tackles for loss a forced fumble and a recovery. He set a single-season career high with 10.5 sacks with the Packers in 2018 and most recently spent last season with the New York Giants, posting four sacks along with a 46-yard pick-six in nine starts.

Perhaps the most adored yet controversial NFL playoff scenario entering Week 18 addressed by Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk involves both the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders mathematically qualifying for the postseason tournament if they agree to tie in the upcoming "Sunday Night Football" contest but only if the Indianapolis Colts lose at the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier in the day.
The Raiders will have already clinched a playoff berth if both the Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers suffer defeats on Sunday afternoon, but Las Vegas interim coach Rich Bisaccia wasn't interested in discussing such possibilities.

Both of these teams have seemingly scratched and clawed their way to staying in the hunt for a playoff berth and neither are going to lay down without giving it everything they have for the cause. No matter what happens on Sunday night, this will be a game that both fan bases will talk about for years to come. I just hope the Chargers can find themselves on the right side of history.

Sunday night’s win by the Packers clinched the No. 1 seed for Green Bay and it also ensured the Eagles of a ticket to the dance, which means there’s not a whole lot of suspense left for the final week of the season in the NFC.
One spot remains available in the postseason tournament and it will belong to the 49ers if they are able to beat the Rams for the sixth straight time in Week 18. If they don’t, the Saints will be in with a win over the Falcons. Should the 49ers prevail, the Cardinals can leapfrog the Rams for the NFC West title with a win over the Seahawks so that 49ers-Rams game is easily the most consequential matchup in the conference in the final week.

Fresh off of their 34-13 win over the Denver Broncos in Week 17, head coach Brandon Staley broke down the team’s crucial victory that kept their playoff destiny alive. Staley talked about how the Bolts came together to play a complete game against Denver.
"I felt like all three phases had really big contributions to the win," Staley said. "I felt like that was a good thing. I felt like a lot of the things that we discussed, in terms of what it was going to take to win that game, we got accomplished. Then, watching it again this morning, late last night and this morning, there's a lot that we need to improve on. We have to get right to work here on Las Vegas, but I'm really proud of the way that our guys competed yesterday in the game. I really felt like we took that stadium and played with the type of energy and the type of focus that that game required. I'm really proud of those guys."
