The Sims are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the eagerly anticipated expansion, Growing Together. The Sims 4's new updates emphasize family gameplay and include much desired features. The pack promises a ton of interesting interactions between Sims of all ages, enabling users explore crucial facets of development and build relationships with other Sims. The Sims 4 Standard Edition can be prepared by players enough in the game.

In addition to new activities designed for kids and young Sims, the expansion pack introduces situations that add realism to the lives of adult Sims. One notable feature is Midlife Crisis, a mini-wish similar to The Sims 3: Generations. In The Sims 4 Growing Together, when Sims reach adulthood, they may receive one of four midlife crisis options. Players can choose whether to complete midlife crisis-related quests, or wait for the timer to pass without pursuing it. By completing these tasks, the duration of midlife crisis will be shortened and Sims will gain a positive mood.

midlife crisis type

The Sims 4: Growing Together expansion pack introduces players to four different types of midlife crises, each with their own unique set of missions that match their Sims' desires.

Adventure Lust: This group of quests centers on experiencing new and exciting things, such as exploring new areas, engaging in extreme sports, and discovering hidden treasures.

Desire for Relationships: This set of tasks focuses on making meaningful connections with others, such as making new friends, getting married, or even befriending a bunny.

The desire to create: These tasks center on creative activities such as drawing, knitting, visiting museums, etc.

Desire for Success: This group of quests is primarily focused on improving your skills and achieving career advancement.

Each Sim can have their own unique mid-life crisis experience, along with a variety of related but random quests that may match their specific desires. While there's no complete list of tasks to do, Sims can explore new hobbies, make new connections, and create new memories. In general, the missions aren't very challenging, although some can be time-consuming. Unlike The Sims 3, The Sims do not require impulse purchases (such as buying a car worth more than 50k Simoleons) to complete the mission.

How to Trigger a Midlife Crisis

The occurrence and type of crisis for a Sim's midlife crisis is generally random, but requires the Sim to be in the adult stage. Interestingly, there seems to be a bug where even baby sims can experience a midlife crisis if they go from adult to young via cheating. Before a midlife crisis occurs, the player will receive an Early Midlife Crisis notification, indicating that if no changes are made in the Sim's life, the midlife crisis will soon occur. If the player ignores this notification, they will receive another notification informing them that their Sim is going through a midlife crisis.

For players who don't want to wait or risk encountering a specific Midlife Crisis, Midlife Crisis can be triggered by using a cheat and selecting the Midlife Crisis option under Expansion Cheats. Players should note that each Sim can only have one midlife crisis, and once it's over, they cannot have another.

What happens during a midlife crisis?

When a Sim is going through a midlife crisis, players will notice a separate quest section under the Aspiration tab that corresponds to specific aspirations. Additionally, Sims will receive a variety of emotions during this time, chief among them being tension directed at midlife crises. Players can track the duration of their midlife crisis through this moodlet. Sims who will also occasionally receive other emotions, such as the sad emotion that comes with contemplating life and lost time, will have access to exclusive interactions such as "Stressed About Lost Time."

Typically, Midlife Crisis starts out with a duration of 7 days, but the duration decreases significantly as players complete quests. The tasks aren't very difficult, and completing each one gives Sims a small amount of satisfaction. Despite the downside of nervousness, midlife crises also provide Sims with unique and temporary benefits. For example, Adventure Desire will reduce energy consumption rate, while Craft Desire will increase the quality of crafts.

What happens after a midlife crisis?

After the Midlife Crisis timer runs out, Sims will enter the Resolution phase, either by completing the quest or waiting. During this phase, Sims will receive a 2-day Happy moodlet indicating that they have overcome their midlife crisis. Sims may develop new likes and dislikes due to new activities and experiences gained during the crisis. For example, a Sim completing a Weaving quest might discover that it is a newfound hobby and add it to their likes. Once the resolution phase is over, Sims will continue with their lives as usual, including any changes they may have made during their midlife crisis.

In general, it is recommended that players allow their adult Sims to experience a midlife crisis rather than try to avoid it. It's a great addition that can change your Sim's life and break the mold. This can create lots of new memories and different storytelling opportunities for players who like to do this. For more game guides, please visit NF17.com.
